Another discovery from one
of
our trips to the States and
another first to the UK from
Carter and Bond. Bay Rum
always seems to be in demand
and we were very taken with
this one because of its
authenticity and simplicity.
Baldwin & Sons, established
in 1888, is still a family
business and they have been
making this Toilet Water
since the 1930s. The founder
(and grandfather of the
current owner) was asked by
a
local boarding house to make
them a Bay Rum for men and
this in turn became part of
their modest range. They
only
make this in small batches
and the ingredients list is
reassuringly short. Not
overly powerful like some
Bay
Rums, this is a real gem.
