Sopwith Camel Biplane

(AM02)

An exquisitely detailed model made from canvas stretched over a wooden frame just like the original plane. This is a model of the iconic Sopwith Camel used extensively by the Allies in World War I. Many moving parts including the propeller, all rudders and even the dials in the cockpit. The paintwork and faux metalwork are realistically distressed to give the plane an appearance of having seen some action. Although significant in size (75cm wingspan and 50cm from nose to tail) the construction makes it very light meaning it can easily hang from a ceiling with a couple of lengths of fishing line (we actually have one of these hanging on display in our Notting Hill shop). Comes almost entirely constructed you just have to attach the undercarriage. This picture does not do justice to the actual model which really needs to be seen to be fully appreciated.
